Everyone says niche down but I have a few interests and no idea which to pick. How do I actually choose a niche?

Your niche sits where three things overlap: what you actually enjoy making, what you know or can speak on, and what brands in that space pay for. Pick that intersection, not a passion nobody pays for or a paid topic you secretly hate. Then commit for a few months before you judge it, one week is not a test. You can niche down further later as you see what lands. A clear lane gives people a reason to follow you and brands a reason to hire you.

Find the overlap

Enjoy it, know it, and brands pay for it. Your niche lives where all three meet.

Avoid the traps

A passion nobody pays for, or a paying topic you hate. Both burn out fast.

Commit to test it

Give a niche months, not days. You cannot judge a lane off one quiet week.

Narrow over time

Start workable, then niche down as you see what your audience responds to.

The brands pay for it part is what people skip. Loved a topic with zero ad budget for a year. Switched, money showed up.

I niched down three times. Started broad in fitness, ended in postpartum fitness. Narrower got me both followers and deals faster.

Give it 90 days minimum before deciding it is wrong. I almost quit a niche at week three that became my whole career.
