Influencer platform hidden costs: what 20 pricing pages leave out

KALO IQ read the pricing pages of the 20 influencer platforms its own comparison pages name most often and scored each one on ten cost items a buyer needs before signing. Two pages could not be fetched. Of the 18 that could, 7 show a price for the influencer product and 11 send you to sales, a demo or a contact form. None prints a per-unit overage price and none prints the price of an extra seat for its influencer product. The median score is 2 out of 10.

Method: the 20 platforms are the ones named most often across the 238 English compare and alternatives pages on this site. Each was read at its own pricing page on 27 October 2026 and scored on the rubric below. KALO IQ was scored the same way from its live pricing page on 2 November 2026.

What counts as a hidden cost here

This report does not hunt for fees in small print. It records what each pricing page states and what it leaves out, because a cost the page never mentions is one a buyer learns on a sales call or from an invoice. The ten items below are the ones that decide a first-year bill: the price and its billing term, seats, the monthly allowance, what happens when it runs out, unlocks and exports, API access, setup fees, the minimum contract, cancellation and the trial.

Some costs sit outside the rubric and are noted where they appear. Grin lists a management fee on creator payment wallet deposits of 20% on its free plan falling to 5% on Scale. Shopify Collabs is free to install but needs a Shopify store whose plan price is not on the listing.

The rubric

Ten cost items, each read from the platform's own pricing page. Every platform and KALO IQ were scored against this table and nothing else.

The scoring rule

How a page was read

Only the platform's own pricing page counts, read on 27 October 2026 and paraphrased here. Where a platform sells more than one product only the influencer product is scored. A page with no plan price can still score on items B to J.

How points add up

Each item earns 1, a half or 0 as set out in the table. Any one condition in a cell earns its points. The score is the sum from 0 to 10, rounded half up to a whole number. The raw sum is shown beside every score.

Why an explicit none counts

A page that says there is no setup fee or that plans run month to month has told the buyer something about cost. So an explicit none counts as stated, the same as a figure.

What is not scored

A platform whose pricing page could not be fetched is not scored and is left out of every count and of the median. Two platforms are in that position. Their HTTP codes are listed.

All 20 platforms, ranked

Score out of 10 with the raw sum beside it. Equal scores share a rank and the higher raw sum is listed first. A field stated in part earns a half point at most.

What the 18 readable pages have in common

11 of 18

Show no price for the influencer product

Aspire, CreatorIQ, HypeAuditor, Klear (now Meltwater), Upfluence, Influencity, Traackr, Later Influence, Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, Tagger and Captiv8. The route is a sales call, a demo form or a contact form. The 7 that show a price are Grin, Modash, Heepsy, impact.com, NeoReach (project minimums only), Shopify Collabs (a fee percentage) and Club.

0 of 18

Print the price of an extra seat

No page prints what an extra seat costs on its influencer product. Modash states the seats each plan includes. Klear (now Meltwater) says user count moves the price and leaves the figures to sales. Grin, Club and Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, whose page also scores Tagger, say seats are not a pricing lever or not capped. The other 12 entries say nothing about seats.

0 of 18

Print a per-unit overage price

None uses the words hard stop either. Four say what happens at a cap. Grin states there is never an overage charge and prompts an upgrade. Club says nothing is capped. Modash says to upgrade or ask for a custom plan. impact.com describes a charge on payout volume above the allowance with no unit price. Influencity sends extra capacity to a call. The other 13 are silent.

1 of 18

Prices a setup or onboarding fee

impact.com charges $250 an hour for setup and onboarding from Essentials up and nothing on Starter. Klear (now Meltwater) and Upfluence acknowledge a possible or optional onboarding charge without an amount. Modash and Shopify Collabs state there is none. The other 13 are silent.

4 of 18

State a 12-month minimum term

Upfluence on annual plans, impact.com, Klear (now Meltwater) and Club. Grin, Modash and Heepsy state month to month or no annual lock-in, with Grin requiring an annual agreement on Enterprise only. The other 11 are silent on contract length.

3 of 18

State cancellation terms

Modash, Heepsy and Influencity. The other 15 say nothing about how to cancel or what happens to a prepaid period.

4 of 18

State a trial with its card requirement

Modash (no card), Grin (card or bank account at signup), Heepsy (free plan, no card) and Klear (now Meltwater), which states there is no trial. impact.com, Influencity, Upfluence, HypeAuditor and Shopify Collabs mention a trial or a free start without saying whether a card is taken.

2 out of 10

Median score

Across the 18 scored entries the mean is 2.8. One platform scores 9, one 7, three 6, four 3, four 1 and five score 0.

Platform by platform

Modash 9 of 10, raw 8.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

Essentials costs $199 a month billed monthly and Performance $499, with Enterprise from $14,700 a year. Essentials includes 2 team members and Performance 5, with no price for an extra seat. Monthly caps are stated: 300 and 800 opened profiles, 150 and 400 unlocked emails, 100 and 250 tracked creators. At a cap the FAQ says to upgrade or ask for a custom plan without a unit price. The FAQ rules out setup and onboarding fees. No annual commitment is required. Monthly plans end at once on cancellation and annual plans run to the end of the prepaid term. The trial lasts 14 days with no card. API pricing sits on a separate page. The yearly prices shown equal twelve times the monthly prices.

Grin 7 of 10, raw 7.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

Four of five plans carry a price: a free plan, then Starter at $200 a month billed monthly, Growth at $500 and Scale at $1,500. Enterprise is custom. Plans are described as not priced per seat with no seat counts given. Monthly searches run from 1,200 on Free to 120,000 on Scale. At a limit the page prompts an upgrade and states there is never an overage charge. Plans up to Scale are month to month and Enterprise is annual. Starter has a 30-day trial that takes a card or bank account at signup. Nothing is said about a setup fee or how to cancel.

impact.com 6 of 10, raw 6.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

This is a partnership and affiliate platform, so its allowance is partner payout volume rather than searches. Starter costs $30 a month plus 2.5% of revenue, Essentials $500 and Pro $2,500. Enterprise is custom. Payout allowances are 2,500 a month on Essentials and 14,300 on Pro. Above that the page describes a charge on payout volume and says there are no overage fees without giving a unit price. Setup and onboarding cost $250 an hour on Essentials, Pro and Enterprise and nothing on Starter. Contracts run 12 months. Starter has a 30-day trial with no word on a card. Seats and cancellation are not covered.

Brandbassador (now Club) 6 of 10, raw 6.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The Brandbassador domain redirects to Club. The usual fetch returned only the page title twice, so this section was read from the static HTML the same day and is lower confidence than the rest. Software plans start at $1,500 a month billed annually on Growth and Pro is $2,250. The managed plans Co-Pilot and Auto-Pilot are $3,200 and $3,950, all billed annually. Ambassadors, missions and admin seats are not capped on any plan. Variable costs are stated as an 8% cost per acquisition on in-app affiliate sales and a 4.79% transaction cost. Every plan carries a 12-month contract. There is no trial, only a demo. Nothing is said about cancellation, setup fees or an API.

Heepsy 6 of 10, raw 5.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

A free plan needs no card. Starter costs $69 a month on annual billing or $89 billed monthly, Plus $149 or $199 and Advanced $229 or $299. A Large Teams tier is custom priced. Results run from 500 a month on Free to 100,000 on Advanced and advanced profiles from 10 to 2,000. The page does not say what happens at a limit or what extra results cost. There is no annual lock-in. You can cancel any time and access runs to the end of the period. The API is only in the custom tier. Seats and setup fees are not mentioned.

Klear (now Meltwater) 3 of 10, raw 3.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The Klear pricing address redirects to Meltwater, which does not name Klear and lists influencer marketing under its Enterprise and Agency plans. No plan carries a price and every plan links to sales. User count affects the price with no figures given. A one-time implementation or onboarding charge may apply to enterprise or complex setups at an amount set by sales. Most agreements are annual with a 12-month minimum. There is no self-serve trial, only a guided demo.

Upfluence 3 of 10, raw 2.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

All three plans are custom quoted. Pricing is per team with no seat counts. A database size is given but no allowance. API access is listed as a build-your-own module without a price. No setup fee is mandatory and self-serve onboarding is free. Custom onboarding packages exist at a price the page does not state. Annual plans run 12 months. A trial follows an initial call with no word on a card.

Influencity 3 of 10, raw 2.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

No prices are listed. Monthly and annual billing are described, with annual cheaper per month but no figure. The page says plans may carry usage limits on items such as creator analyses and tracked creators and routes extra capacity to a call. An API page is linked without terms or price. Monthly plans cancel before the next cycle and annual plans run to the end of the period. Every plan has a 7-day trial with no word on a card.

Shopify Collabs 3 of 10, raw 2.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

The Collabs product page says nothing about cost, so the Shopify App Store listing was scored. The app is free to install and set-up is free. A 2.9% commission processing fee may apply on automatic creator payments. Collabs needs a Shopify store. The store plan price is not on the listing and is the real first-year cost. Seats, allowance, contract and cancellation are not mentioned.

Sprout Social Influencer Marketing 1 of 10, raw 1.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The pricing page prices the social media suite per seat. It lists Influencer Marketing with no price, a note that no Sprout plan is required and a demo button. The product page says it runs without seat limits and shows no price. Scored on the suite the same page would reach 5, which is why this report states that it scores the influencer product only.

Tagger 1 of 10, raw 1.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The Tagger pricing address returned HTTP 404. Tagger is sold today as Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, so it carries the same score from the same page. It is listed separately because this site treats the two as separate platforms.

HypeAuditor 1 of 10, raw 0.5

Fetched twice on 27 October 2026

The pricing address answered with navigation, demo and sales buttons and a line about starting free. No plan names, prices or limits were present. A static fetch of the served HTML found no price either. If plan content exists it is not served to a plain fetch. The free start earns a half point because the page does not say whether a card is needed. An API link without terms earns nothing.

NeoReach 1 of 10, raw 0.5

Fetched 27 October 2026

The page prices managed campaigns rather than a software subscription. It names a $100,000 minimum engagement and full-service campaigns from $25,000. The $100,000 figure is a spend floor, not a contract term. Every engagement model is priced by proposal and API work is scoped to the brief. Nothing else in the rubric is stated.

Aspire 0 of 10, raw 0.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The pricing address returned HTTP 404 with and without a trailing slash. The plans address is a demo booking form that asks for your monthly ad and creator budgets. The homepage navigation has no pricing link. A free demo is offered rather than a trial. Nothing in the rubric is stated.

CreatorIQ 0 of 10, raw 0.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The pricing page is a form that asks you to schedule a call for pricing and packages. Packages are mentioned but not named. Nothing in the rubric is stated.

Traackr 0 of 10, raw 0.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The pricing page is a request form that names Plan, Activate and Measure as platform areas without prices. Nothing in the rubric is stated.

Later Influence 0 of 10, raw 0.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The Later pricing page covers the scheduling product and says it does not cover the influencer product. The influencer marketing page offers strategy call buttons with no price and no pricing link. The trial button there belongs to the scheduling product. The scheduling page would score well but it is a different product.

Captiv8 0 of 10, raw 0.0

Fetched 27 October 2026

The pricing address returned HTTP 404. The homepage shows no price, no plan and no pricing link. Its buttons are sign-up and a contact form. Nothing in the rubric is stated.

IZEA Not scored

Tried 27 October 2026

Not fetchable: HTTP 403. The pricing address returned 403 with and without a trailing slash, as did the IZEA Flex product and pricing addresses and the www host. A browser user agent made no difference. Not scored and left out of every count.

Collabstr Not scored

Tried 27 October 2026

Not fetchable: HTTP 403. The pricing address returned 403 on the bare and www hosts and the homepage returned 403 too. A browser user agent made no difference. Not scored and left out of every count.

KALO IQ on the same rubric

KALO IQ publishes this report, so its own pricing page was scored with the same ten items and the same rule. It was read from the live page on 2 November 2026. Read against the version live on 27 October 2026 it scored 8. The page has changed since, so this is a fresh score.

ItemCost itemPointsWhat the live pricing page states
APrice1Free at $0. Starter $79 a month billed monthly or $55 a month billed yearly at $659 a year. Growth $199 or $139. Agency $399 or $279.
BSeats11 seat on Free and Starter, 3 on Growth and 10 on Agency. The page states that extra seats are not sold yet, which counts as an explicit none.
CAllowance1Search results of 750, 6,000, 30,000 and 120,000 a month. Profile unlocks of 15, 125, 700 and 3,000 a month.
DOverage1When an allowance is used up the action pauses until the next monthly refill with no overage charge. That is a hard stop.
EUnlocks and exports1Unlock limits are stated per plan. The page states that credit top-ups are not sold yet, which counts as an explicit none. CSV export is on Growth and Agency.
FAPI0The page does not mention an API.
GSetup fee1No onboarding fee.
HMinimum contract1Month to month on every plan with no annual contract.
ICancellation1Cancel any time with no notice period and no exit penalty. Downgrades take effect at the next billing date.
JTrial1A free plan with no card and no time limit.
Total9Raw sum 9.0

KALO IQ drops one full point, on item F. Its pricing page does not say whether an API exists or what it costs. Another page on this site describes an API included on paid plans from $79 a month and links to the pricing page, which does not confirm it. Scored from the pricing page alone, as every other platform was, that is a 0.

Two gaps cost no points under this rubric and a buyer should still know them. The pricing page does not say whether a yearly plan paid up front is refunded on cancellation. That sits on a separate policy page. Because extra seats and credit top-ups are not sold, the only way past a cap is a plan upgrade: a fourth seat means moving from Growth at $199 a month to Agency at $399.

That leaves KALO IQ at 9, with a raw sum of 9.0. It ties Modash on the rounded score and sits half a point above it on the raw sum. KALO IQ wrote this rubric, scored itself and changed its pricing page after the rubric was set. Read its position with that in mind.

Questions

Which influencer platforms publish their prices?

7 of the 18 pricing pages that could be read show a price for the influencer product: Grin, Modash, Heepsy, impact.com, NeoReach with project minimums only, Shopify Collabs with a fee percentage and Club. The other 11 send you to sales, a demo form or a contact form.

Does any influencer platform publish an overage price?

No. None of the 18 prints a per-unit overage price. Grin states there is never an overage charge and Club says nothing is capped. Modash and impact.com describe what happens at a cap without a unit price. Influencity sends extra capacity to a call and the other 13 do not say.

How were the platforms scored?

Each pricing page was scored on ten cost items with 1 point for a full answer, a half point for a partial one and 0 for no answer. The sum was rounded half up to a score out of 10. Modash scored highest at 9 and five platforms scored 0.

How does KALO IQ score on the same rubric?

KALO IQ scores 9 out of 10 with a raw sum of 9.0. It loses one point on API because its pricing page does not mention an API. KALO IQ wrote the rubric and scored itself.

Sources and limits

Every platform figure on this page comes from that platform's own pricing page as read on 27 October 2026, paraphrased rather than quoted. The KALO IQ figures come from its live pricing page as read on 2 November 2026. Prices change and a page may read differently today. The Club section was read from static HTML and is lower confidence. HypeAuditor may show plan content to a browser that a plain fetch does not receive. The 20 platforms were chosen by how often this site's own comparison pages name them, which is a measure of this site's coverage rather than of market share. This page links to no competitor and reproduces no third-party page.
