I keep hearing about UGC. How do I actually become a UGC creator, and do I need a big following?

UGC is content you make for a brand to use, not posts for your own audience, so you do not need a following. Pick a niche, learn to film clean video on your phone, and make three sample ads for products you already use. That portfolio is your resume. Then pitch brands and list yourself where they look for creators.

The path to your first client

UGC is a content service, not an audience game. Treat it like one.

Followers are not required

Brands buy the content, not your reach. A clean reel beats a big count.

Build three sample ads

Spec ads for products you use become your portfolio.

Pitch and get listed

Pitch small brands and list your niche where they search.

I made three sample ads in a weekend with my phone and a ring light. That portfolio got me my first paid brief.

No following needed is the part people miss. Brands buy the content, not your audience. Changed how I pitched.

Learn basic lighting and clean audio first. That alone puts you ahead of most beginners sending shaky clips.
