Using the US audience filter

Updated June 3, 2026 · By Sophia Miller

This is the filter that matters most for US brands. It screens by where a creator's audience actually lives, not where the creator claims to be. Here is how to use it and why it beats a simple location filter.

Where to find it

Open Discover, then in the filter panel set Audience location to United States. This is different from Creator location. A creator can live in Los Angeles while most of their followers sit overseas, leaving that creator useless for a US campaign.

Set a minimum US audience percentage

  1. Turn on Audience location: United States.
  2. Set the minimum US percentage. For most US brands 70% or higher is the right floor.
  3. Run the search. Every result now has at least that share of real US followers.

Why this beats stated location

Stated location is self-reported and easy to fake. KALO IQ verifies audience geography from real follower data, so the filter reflects who actually sees and engages with a creator's posts. That is what decides whether your campaign reaches US buyers.

Frequently asked questions

For US-focused campaigns, 70% or higher is a safe floor. Push to 85%+ if your product only ships domestically.
No. Creator location is where the person is based. Audience location is where their followers actually live. Always filter on audience location for US campaigns.
